Energy Efficiency
Want your business to achieve higher production levels with less energy?
Energy efficiency delivers results that directly impact your businesses bottom line. Identifying energy efficiency options, developing a policy, establishing target objectives and creating an effective implementation strategy is essential in todays market considering increasing energy prices and supply uncertainty.
Quantum Satis will undertake a comprehensive analysis of your business’s energy usage and identify energy efficiency options unique to your operations. Our services are aligned to the ISO 50001:2011 Standard. We are experts in the following fields of energy efficient technologies:
Energy Efficient Lighting
Is your business in search of a lighting technology systems partner?

We are specialists in the field of lighting technologies having a thorough knowledge of
modern lighting systems. Our expert analysis and software modeling are used to simulate
lighting efficiency projects. We provide our clients with a comprehensive turnkey solution
from audit, investment analysis, installation and ongoing maintenance and support.
Quantum Satis constantly assess lighting technologies and have a recommended portfolio
of LED lighting systems from leading manufacturers. LED is our recommended choice due
to its life cycle, efficiency, low rate of lumen depreciation, reduced maintenance cost,
ability to integrate dimming and occupancy control gear without affecting lamp lifespan.
We provide you with a comprehensive audit, identifying the most suitable option to meet
your lighting requirements together with a financial analysis to assist you with making an
investment decision.
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Systems
Improve energy efficiency by combining heat streams with power generation

Combined heat and power (CHP) systems or cogeneration uses a system that produces
both electricity as well as useful heat.
Cogeneration is a thermodynamically efficient use of fuel. In separate production of
electricity, some energy must be discarded as waste heat, but in cogeneration this thermal
energy is put to use. These systems can operate at efficiencies at 80 to 90%.
We provide an audit of your energy requirements and tailor a system suitable to your
operation.
Waste Heat Recovery
Waste heat streams can be used to produce electricity

In industrial operations a large quantity of energy is disposed into the atmosphere as waste
heat. Instead of disposing of waste heat, it can be used to improve plant efficiency by being
put to useful work.
Using waste heat recovery systems, the otherwise waste heat streams can be channeled to
produce electricity in a waste to energy cycle.
Waste heat streams can also be redirected through heat exchangers to deliver heat where it
is required.
There are multiple options for heat recovery - Allow us to expertly identify options
available at your operations.
Compressed Air Systems Optimisation
Improve operational efficiency on the most expensive utility.

Compressed air systems are highly inefficient and regarded as the most expensive utility -
of the total energy supplied to a compressor, as little as 8-10 per cent may be converted
into useful energy that can do work at the point of use.
Minimising waste is vital, as the right approach can significantly improve system efficiency.
Some factors that determine efficiency includes pressure, storage, leakage, type of
compressors, compressor control and waste heat recovery.
Quantum Satis conducts compressed air system audits using specialized measuring devices
to collect critical data. Data is then exported to software tools which enable us to identify
efficiency opportunities.
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Can your business's air quality control system be optimised?

HVAC systems consume a considerable amount of energy to maintain air quality levels.
These systems are essential to promote productivity and create an environment conducive
to certain business processes.
In recent years air handling technology has advanced considerably - Hybrid systems that
are more economical have become available; Nanotechnology can improve heat exchange
in the system resulting in significant savings; Smarter electronic control significantly
improves energy efficiency; Thermal storage systems can be adopted to take advantage of
cheaper energy; Natural cooling can be integrated into the existing systems; Heat that
would normally be disposed to the atmosphere can be recycled to produce energy or even
further cooling by using absorption cooling systems.
There are several options to improve HVAC efficiency. Let us tailor a solution for your
business.
